Just finished my morning gaming before I sit down to do some more writing.
I finished Outlast 2, and…yeah…what?
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed playing it; I just have no idea what the hell was going on. I’m not going to go into anything specific because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who’s yet to play it, but there were some parts where I kind of had an idea where it was going, and then it went off on one again and by the end I just kind of lost the plot.
The first Outlast was weird too, but it had more of an explanation at the end. Outlast 2, not so much. I guess that some of it is to be left up to the player’s own interpretation. Maybe my head just wasn’t prepared to have to think about it. But, like I said, still a good game – if terrifying at times.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes survival horror games; it’s really well done, sufficiently creepy, and genuinely horrific in parts. There were parts were I just hid in a dark room with a bookcase barricading the door, hoping that I could stay there forever and somehow that would help me finish the game. Alas, it didn’t.
Now that I’m finished with the Outlast series…for now. I’m going to move on to something else. I think next, I will be restarting – and actually trying to finish this time – Resident Evil VII.
I originally bought REVII with my PS4 VR, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to play all that much of it with the VR because I got motion sickness. I restarted it just playing as normal, but I got stuck on a bit where I’d run out of all ammo and health kits and couldn’t really progress. This time will be different, though. I will get through it!
But for now, onto the writing.
